The contribution of the mining sector to local development at the heart of a workshop

Sharing experiences on mining sector support mechanisms for local development : the cases of Cameroon and Guinea. This is the theme of a workshop to be held on Thursday June 13, the main objective of which is to strengthen the understanding of civil society players and the media on the issue of extractive revenue sharing and local development in Cameroon and the Republic of Guinea.

Dr. Hervé Lado’s brief stay in Cameroon provides an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange views on the contribution of the mining sector to local development. This workshop responds to a need for training reaffirmed by the actors grouped within the admissibility platform, with a view to having a better-equipped civil society.

The workshop will be hosted by the Publish What You Pay (PWYP-Cameroon) coalition, and will be held at the SNJP offices of the Cameroon National Episcopal Conference in Mvolyé. Participants are expected from 9:00 am.
