Established in 2001, the Network for the Fight against Hunger (RELUFA) is a platform of civil society and grassroots actors whose mission is to fight against systemic problems that lead to poverty, hunger, and economic, social and environmental injustices. The work of RELUFA is guided by the following central values: integrity, dedication, creativity. RELUFA privileges: Collaboration and precision to study the questions at the origin of the identified problems; Creativity to seek strategic solutions for marginalized populations; Inclusion and mobilization of stakeholders for necessary structural changes. All of our actions in our programs therefore consist of:
• Capacity building of various stakeholders (communities, local CSOs, parliamentarians, journalists, students);
• Studies and restitution of the recommendations to the relevant actors;
• Mobilization actions with communities concerned and local CSOs;
• Participation in national and international strategies, campaigns and movements for social justice, transparency and good governance, and for the fight against poverty.
As part of the implementation of its daily activities and ongoing projects, RELUFA intends to ensure its visibility. For this, we are looking for a Communication Officer within the organization.
This will particularly concern the facilitation of communication activities around the LandCam project, which aims to guide the land reform underway in Cameroon in order to better protect the rights and interests of citizens. This project is co-funded by the European Union and is carried out by a consortium of organisations, including RELUFA. It entails various communication activities around technical issues related to the governance of land tenure and natural resources in Cameroon, and the links with social and political issues. The person who will join the RELUFA/LandCam team will need to have a good understanding of the stakes of the land reform, and will need to be able to work with a multitude of audiences and partners. This is a full-time position, so the Communications Officer is expected to be in attendance 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Communications Officer will be responsible for:
• Developing and monitoring the implementation of the internal and external communication strategy;
• Ensuring the production and supervision of communication materials;
• Managing relations with partner organizations, the press and the public;
• Carrying out project communication on social media and other online platforms networks;
• Updating the RELUFA website ;
• Participating in the development of communication plans for RELUFA projects;
• Participating in the organization of RELUFA events;
• Assisting program officers in programs communication activities;
• Contributing to the archiving of information concerning RELUFA activities ;
• Managing the newsletters of the organization and various projects;
• Performing any other activity assigned by the Coordinator as part of the development of the organization.

• Excellent oral and written command of French and English;

• Good knowledge of social networks and website animation.
Training
Graduate degree in Communication, Journalism or Social Sciences.
Professional experience
At least two years of professional experience in communication.
