Fondation Salaaman
(Salaaman [Peace] Foundation, FoSal) is a Christian NGO striving for
socio-economic and cultural development in Northern Cameroon.
FoSal's main objectives are:
- improving cultivation and husbandry;
- promoting health care;
- fighting illiteracy among girls and nomad
people;
- educating on environmental protection;
- promoting Human Rights.
Activities include promotion of agriculture and zootechnics and their
implementation in projects; social reintegration of alcoholics,
prostitutes, prisoners and delinquents; support for widows and orphans;
sensitization of health care; and financial support for income
generating projects. FoSal provides the necessary training for the
respective target groups. The organization is also involved in the
promotion and distribution of Christian literature. In an effort to
reach a larger audience, FoSal opened in August 2004 Radio Salaaman
(RaSal).
