ADERSA is a team of Cameroonians with divers experiences. Their effective and original approach is likely to inspire rural or regional development policies. With civil society awakening, ADERSA makes the know-how of its team available to grassroots groups, development programs, agricultural enterprises, international financial institutions, as well as governmental entities. ADERSA not only undertakes projects itself, but also provides consultancy services in the form of feasibility studies and project evaluation, or executes programs for organizations that outsource their activities.

ADERSA’s programs include:

  • Development and execution of food security programs through the promotion of the storage of local produce in the village
  • Community organizing of rural producers to better manage the agricultural sectors
  • Mediation in land disputes
  • Social experimentation to develop the infrastructure
  • Programs to open up isolated villages with participation of the local population
  • Design and follow up of pastoral water projects
  • Design and follow up of labor-intensive building projects
  • Develop systems for villagers to manage the infrastructures they use
  • Set up programs in the field of Gender and Development

In partnership with international donors, national development organizations and different ministries, the staff of ADERSA has accomplished a great variety of projects:

  • The development of a self-financed food storage system and the creation and follow-up of over 250 community granaries in the North and Far-North Provinces.
  • Assisting the creation of several federations for grain producers and stockers in the Diamaré, Mayo Kani and Mayo Danay, Mayo Sava, Mayo Tsanaga, Logone and Chari.Construction of 63 co-financed granaries.
  • Digging and treatment of 20 water points for livestock. Implementation of a method for co-financing and management of these installations by their users.
  • Digging of 72 wells in North and Far-North Provinces.
  • Observatory of land ownership, with production of 2 documents.
  • Demarcation and realization of 41 grazing areas and 15 corridors for livestock the subdivisions of Ngong, Touroua, Pitoa, Bibémi, Guider, Mokolo and Mindif
  • Negotiations of the demarcations for 67 migrant villages in the District of Touroua, Poli and Touboro subdivisions, i.e. a total of 242 km of recognized borders.
  • Development of various SIG and of a method for participative cartography to be used in the negotiation of local solutions to land disputes.
  • Construction of 25 crossings in the Gudur-Mandaya Valley (Mayo-Tsanaga), of 3 crossings in Mayo Kani and 4 in Mayo Rey.
  • Creation of an Association of the Users of the Gudur-Mandaya road. Development of 34 km of pathways to open up isolated villages.
  • Natural regeneration of 12.700 ha of faidherbia albida parcs, i.e. 300.000 trees in 3 years, partially financed by the producers.
  • Training program for the creation and treatment of water points for livestock in the North and Far North. Nearly 3000 villages were sensitized between October 2000 and July 2002.  180 water points are programmed and approved by the provincial follow-up committees.
  • Reinforcement of the village granary program through the donation of 710 tons of cereals to 110 village groups, and the distribution of 94 tons of food in exchange for work on the construction of agricultural water projects. (2000-2001 on behalf of WFP).
  • Construction of classrooms in Gawel.
  • Training program on financing socio-economic infrastructures  for the benefit of populations of six sub divisions in the Mayo-Danaï division (2002-2003 and 2003-2006)

  • « Crises and practical land in Cameroun. Understanding the logic of land disputes to propose innovative models of land regulation». Study in the context of a review of the rural sector (IRAD/TERDEL, February/April 2002).
  • Program on space management for the entire cotton producing zone from June 2003 to December 2005.
