AAFCOOP
is a Non-governmental Organization (NGO) that provides support for the
development of the people at the grassroots by the people at the
grassroots. It is mainly involved in the Central, West, East and
Coastal provinces. AAFCOOP helps the consolidation of self-help groups
in Cameroon through assistance in the development of human resources,
advice and support for the development of income generating activities,
services for external control and any other support for institutional
consolidation of organized groups.
AAFCOOP seeks to resolve the
problems of institutional weaknesses of rural organizations in
Cameroon, especially the cooperatives. Its main objectives are:
- To
contribute to the search and application of solutions to the large and
increasing problem of poverty of rural and urban population groups in
its area of action.
- To encourage the development and promotion
of cooperatives, grassroots groups, formal and informal associations,
economic interest groups.
- If necessary give direct support to groups that make a pertinent request
- On request, assure an external control of the groups
AAFCOOP's
domains of intervention are education and training, external management
control, support and advice, studies and research, women
entrepreneurial initiatives (creation of enterprises, training of
entrepreneurs), loan and saving programs; correspondence courses in
administration and organization, management and accountability of
cooperatives.
